CONSULTATION:

A thorough consultation is one of the most critical parts to a successful treatment with Lumecca Peak Advanced IPL at The Skin Co. Your provider will discuss your concerns as well as your medical history to determine if you are a candidate for Lumecca Peak. 

PRE-PROCEDURE:

Avoid sun exposure. Apply sunscreen daily and do not tan, including self-tanner for 4-6 weeks before and after treatments. 

TREATMENT:

The IPL handpiece is gently pressed to the skin as pulses of light are emitted. The light is absorbed by the skin’s red or brown pigment and converted to heat, which dissolves the pigmented cells. 

POST-PROCEDURE:

Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.
